Spring is the perfect season to celebrate an important moment in your life and your children. 

At Hibiscus Dinners, we customize all our menus to fit perfectly to your wishes and needs. A confirmation is an important step in the life in the Norwegian culture, make this day unforgettable!

Every year, we release a menu specially made for this special event. It features the best ingredients available in Norway and specifically in the Oslo region. As an original catering company and private chef services, we like to surprise you and your guests bringing you a unique and colorful menu.

All the menus we create and always a basis to give you an idea of what we do. Changes can always be made to adapt better to your taste and specific requests.

Alexandra catered for my son's Confirmation. She was extremely professional and had everything set up for lunch when we returned home after the ceremony. Celebrate the 17th of May - Hurra for 17. Mai !

The 17th of May is the Norwegian Constitution day. A happy day filled with Champagne, Blue-White-Red Norwegian flags, people wearing their traditional Bunad and delicious and regressive food.

Traditionally, Norwegians start with the Champagne breakfast as early as 7am, then go to the parade that takes place in their city to watch the young kids walking with their school classmates, and finally either host a party at their place or head to a crowded restaurant.

What is traditional 17th of May food? As it is a day of celebration, it is common to indulge yourself with lots of sweets and alcohol (remember to drink with moderation… of course!). On the table, you will find: homemade pavlova with Norwegian colors, salmon gravlax, delicious scrambled eggs, the best-cured meat (mostly Spanish) and cheese.

The 17th of May is the opportunity to host family and friends in your home. Why not asking for our buffet and finger food menu? We customize all orders and like to be unconventional yet curious using the best local ingredients, organic when possible.

Rebirth of the Princess event - Nov 2015

Last Thursday, 19th of November 2015 I had the pleasure to make food for Rebirth of the Princess launch of their hair jewelry.

The beautiful table set up - Hibiscus Dinners and Rebirth of the Princess style!

For this exclusive event, I used exclusive products: lobster, golden leaf, French trout roe… So the food food could shine next the hair jewels of Vana Perisa from Rebirth of the Princess. 

During this event we decided to serve cold finger food that was both delicious and healthy! Here is what I prepared:

-Homemade salmon gravlax on homemade blini with a wasabi cream

-Vegan fresh spring rolls filled with seasonal vegetables

-A jar filled with avocado cream topped with a lobster salad flavored with orange

I am so glad everything went well. I adapt all my menus to my customers requests: we can do tapas, gastronomic private dinners, finger food from France or with Asian inspirations - Everything is possible!
